I didn't receive my sign-in code

Codes usually arrive within a minute — check your spam or junk folder first. If you request several codes in a row, the sign-in service asks you to wait about a minute between requests, so give it a moment and try once more. Each code expires after a short while; always use the newest email.

How do I invite someone to my trip?

Open the trip and tap Share code. You can send the invite with the share sheet, or just read them the short code — they enter it on their home screen under "Join a trip." Anyone who joins can add ideas, vote, and edit the schedule.

How does scouting work?

Move the map to any area you're curious about and tap ✨ Scout this area. Ideas appear on the map as they're found. You can abort a scout at any time, move the map, and scout again for a fresh batch. Search works the same way — it only looks within the area you're viewing.

Does the app work offline?

Yes — your itinerary is saved on your phone whenever you view it, so the plan is readable in airplane mode. You'll need a connection to make changes, scout, or see other people's latest edits; the app syncs up automatically when you're back online.

I'm not getting notifications

Check that notifications are allowed for Jot & Trot in iPhone Settings → Notifications. You'll get a push when someone else adds stops to a shared trip; your own changes don't notify you.

How do hotel stays work?

Schedule a hotel on the day you check in and it automatically carries through each night until check-out — usually the last day of the trip. If you add more than one hotel, the stay is split between them. The nightly price is counted in each day's budget.
